Red Hot Chili Peppers to release 18 new songs over the next 6 months

Bassist Flea has revealed that the band will be releasing 18 new songs over the next six months.

The bassist confirmed that the band have been busy writing while they’ve been touring their tenth studio album ‘I’m With You’ and will be putting out new material as 7” vinyl singles and digital download.

Taking to his Twitter account, Flea wrote: “We have been writing stuff while touring. We are also going to put out 18 new songs over the next 6 months on 7 inch and digitally.”

The band’s drummer Chad Smith had previously said that the funk punks had at least “10 more songs” ready to release from their sessions for ‘I’m With You’, which it seems will form part of the 18 tracks they will now put out.

Metallica 'We can't afford to stop touring'

Metallica have admitted that they can no longer afford to not tour anymore, as they don’t make enough from royalties.

Guitarist Kirk Hammett revealed that though the band would actively like to take more time off to spend time with their families, they cannot afford to do so.

Bob Dylan was honoured with the Medal Of Freedom by US president Barack Obama at the White House last night (May 29).

The singer-songwriter, among 13 new recipients of the US’ highest civilian award, was paid a glowing tribute by Obama, who said there was “no bigger giant in the history of American music”.

Obama, who said he was a “really big fan”, continued:

By the time he was 23, Bob’s voice, with its weight, its unique, gravelly power was redefining not just what music sounded like, but the message it carried and how it made people feel. Today, everybody from Bruce Springsteen to U2 owes Bob a debt of gratitude.

Quirky, funny and unique. Scott Pilgrim brought something very new to the teen romance genre of film, maybe before its time but, still a very enjoyable movie with intresting characters and great action scenes

Boogie Nights (Dir. Paul Thomas Anderson - 1997)

Loosely bases on the legendary porn star John Holmes, Boogie Nights tells the story of Eddie Adams (Mark Wahlberg) who later becomes famous porn actor Dirk Diggler from the conseption of his fame to his demise.

This was the first Paul Thomas Anderson film I have seen all the way through. A few months ago I tried to watch There Will Be Blood. However although criticaly aclaimed worldwide, the film was unable to capture my intrest and was switched off after an hour of boredom.

Boogie Nights however is a very diffrent story. I was quickly captured from the onset with the great opening scene. The character development in this film is excellent. We get an insight into the lives of various porn stars and an accurate portyal of the trials and tribulations that came with that line of work.

I loved this film. All the major characters are very intresting and through excellent preformances and a great script we are able to connect and feel for them.
